Internship furniture maker

Internship furniture maker

Are you training to become a cabinetmaker and looking for an internship to gain practical experience? Then you've come to the right place at INTOS, we have internships for all years and all levels!

During your internship, you will learn all kinds of things about furniture making. INTOS makes custom-made furniture, ranging from cabinet walls to complete office interiors. You will work in a fixed team. At INTOS there are six trainers in total, one for each project team. Your mentor is your first point of contact. The practice trainer will guide you in your work and school assignments. Besides the practice trainer, you will also learn a lot from other colleagues in the team.

Would you like to learn this beautiful trade with us? Then read below about this vacancy for trainee furniture maker/interior builder at INTOS in Haarlem.

What will you do?

A day as a trainee furniture maker

At 7.30 am your day starts at INTOS. It's Monday so in the week start, the team leader informs your entire team about the production planning for the week. What needs to be made for which customer and when? The drawings made by the work planner are also discussed, so that everyone is aware of the most important details and points of interest of the furniture to be made. Together with your colleague, you will work on the counters for a foreign airport. Your practical trainer will teach you how to work the various materials with precision (gluing, drilling, sanding, et cetera).

At lunchtime at INTOS, you will have lunch with colleagues or take a walk outside. Then you get to apply the techniques you have learned and build a sample of the counter using the materials you have worked on. In doing so, you notice a few things that could be improved. Together with a colleague, you look for suitable solutions and share these with the project manager and the work planner so that they can make any adjustments to the planning and drawings. In the last few hours, you help build a seating unit for a large hospital.
